“Everyone thinks that Big Eyes is a love song, so I feel like I should explain what it’s about because it’s definitely not a love song. I’m not a religious person but at one stage in my life I was thinking a lot about religion. And I thought, well if there is a God I wonder what he’s thinking as he’s looking down on me right now. I wonder what he thinks about what I’m doing and who I am right now. So that’s why the song is called Big Eyes… because I assume that God must have really fucking big eyes.”
